3 Reasons Events are a Crucial Part of your Marketing Strategy

The Importance of eventsIf you’re the type of person who spends much of your “free time” entrenched in improving your career and growing your business, chances are you’re always seeking out ways to better understand and become more involved in your industry.

This can be done by keeping up with important industry publications, listening to podcasts, and reading the latest books written by trusted industry leaders.

But, what if I told you there was a way to gain this professional knowledge while also exposing and establishing your brand within your industry? Would you take advantage of this opportunity? If your answer is yes, then I hope you’re thinking of the same thing we are: events.

Let’s talk about events. Both attending and hosting events are a crucial part of your Marketing Strategy. Let’s start with talking about why hosting events is so important to your business:

  1. Not only is this a publicity opportunity for your company where you can personally deliver your mission and messaging, it’s a chance to engage individual prospects who are more likely to remember your name if they have a face and a memorable conversation to match. You can also take advantage of this introduction by setting up personal follow up meetings.
  2. If you execute an event successfully, they have the chance to not only engage the attendees - but your message and mission can be spread through newsworthy channels as another way to stay top of mind and extend your reach.
  3. Event leads are all pre-qualified to some degree. Some would even go as far as saying that events deliver sales ready leads. Since the event goer personally chose to put in the work to attend your event, this shows that they see some value in your mission, service, offer etc. and are at least intrigued if not interested.

We know we said this article had 3 key reasons events were important, but we can’t help but throw in a few extra. We understand that not everyone has the resources quite yet to host a large-scale event, but this is when it’s necessary to think outside the box. There are many other ways you can still reap the benefits of an event, even if the execution is on a much smaller scale. Depending on your industry, things like open houses and other small gatherings and meet ups can be just as effective! Additionally, holding webinars, sitting in on panels and presenting at a conference are other great ways to establish yourself as an industry leader. Even if you are not the facilitator, participating in events that are relative to your industry is a great way to get your gears turning, gain new perspectives and see how your industry is developing first hand.
