There Are Some Who Will Fall Out Of Love With You: 5 Ways to Reduce "Unsubscribes"

Which is why we have the unsubscribe button! But how do you stop your potential clients from clicking it?

As Marketers, we know how crucial it is to develop our list of email subscribers. In fact, with Content Marketing becoming de rigueur for just about everyone these days, providing relevant content to a willing audience is key to establishing your brand. But how do you keep that audience engaged and make sure they're getting value out of your emails?

Here are some tips to keep your unsubscribe list as short as possible.

  1. The easiest way to avoid an unsubscribe is to let your new contact know you will be sending emails!
  2. Place new contacts on a list that receives minimal emails to start, such as monthly newsletters.
  3. Monitor this list to see who is opening your emails and what they are clicking on.
  4. Adjust your additional distribution lists accordingly. Adding contacts clicking on a certain category of products or properties only in a certain area, can help you to send more relevant listings more frequently.
  5. If new contacts are opening but not clicking, remember they are just getting to know you and may not be ready to be a client yet. Keep monitoring their activity and send occasional emails to continue engaging with them until they become more active!
